A visual trilogy unfolded from 2021 to 2023 through various editions of this key Montreal event. Influenced by major themes in current affairs and literary proposals, a powerful and cohesive narrative has unfolded from one year to the next.
First, with a gentle approach, envisioning a pandemic where a minimalist design enveloped the reader, inviting them to immerse themselves in the comfort of books at home. Then, in a more dynamic fashion in 2022, where the characters connected to the physical space of the event evolved through graphic collage, transforming the event identity into an immersive visual experience. Finally, 2023 marks the climax, the fireworks of this trilogy, with characters as colorful as they are diverse.
We drew our inspiration from the theme “The Human Being, a Creator with Multiple Facets”. In this new chapter of the Salon du livre de Montréal, human beings take the rightful center stage, from which an entire universe springs for them, where anything is possible. Serving as a vibrant and dynamic guiding thread, the Salon du livre unfolds into a journey of exploration and discovery, with multiple dimensions and possibilities.
The inflatable tubes, photographic foundations and 3D collages created a harmonious blend of the tangible and the boundless, a reflection of the art of reinventing oneself as a human being. Surprising characters emerge from the core of this new universe: Madam Russian doll, unfolding like a book, blooming like a flower. A triple-headed man, strolling through the city with friends, embodying the diversity and imagination within each of us.
Additionally, the color palette has become a recognizable signature over the past three years, evoking a richness of sensations, emotions, and a touch of joy unique to the Salon du livre de Montréal.
